Floating in a felucca on the Nile River.
I was able to try traditional Egyptian food (kochery) and dabble in a little shisha.
A mummy that I wasn't supposed to photograph. Oops.
Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take photos of King Tut, but it was a surreal experience to see it in person.
Khan Al-Khalili Market.
Turkish coffee at El Fishawy. The strongest coffee I have ever drank. I was about to pass out when we got back to the apartment.
Alabaster stone shop. I wish I would have had more room in my suitcase for more pieces. I bought a couple for my room and I love lighting them up at night.
And now for what I had been waiting for... See the Great Pyramids of Giza and ride a camel, CHECK.
The Sphinx.
Just to put into perspective how enormous the pyramids are... I am literally the height of one brick stone.
Getting up on a camel was a scary experience. You feel like you are going to fall, but I did it! I know the faces I made in the process were probably hysterical though.
I have a smile on my face, but to be fair I was actually struggling. I think hot yoga prepared me a little for Egypt's climate, but this was on another level of hot at 111 degrees. My entire body was sweating. Not to mention I was still stuffed from Italy. Talk about an uncomfortable situation. All worth it though!!!
The panoramic view. So cool!
An added perk to my stay in Egypt was that I got to get dressed up and go to a ball, in celebration of the Queen of England's birthday.
