MDW

To start out the Memorial Day Weekend, I headed Downtown Raleigh to have a drink and experience some places I haven't been before. I went to the Boylan Bridge Restaurant and enjoyed the tiny Raleigh skyline. When I looked up the restaurant it said it has the best view of the skyline, but it was kind of funny how small it is coming from seeing Chicago's all my life and just visiting NYC.

My apartment complex's pool opened on Saturday and it was lovely.

On Sunday, I decided to take a day trip to the beach. I went to Wrightsville. Its so clean and beautiful there. I think next time I may try a different beach though to mix it up.

I arrived quite early and was able to enjoy the nice quiet beach.

The houses there are my dream.

For lunch, I ate at The Oceanic. I've been there before, but never for lunch. It was pretty good, but I would suggest holding out for dinner. Their menu has much more seafood dishes. However, the views are amazing anytime of day.

Shrimp Roll and the Crab Melt.

Capped off the weekend with a trip to the grocery store to pick up these beauties for the week. I'm not sure why, but I've been craving these for the past two weeks. So good.

Rain is a Good Thing

If you don't already know,  North Carolina has gotten buckets and buckets of rain this past month. I can't remember the last day it hasn't rained. At one point, one of the major highways was submerged in water. This weekend I went to the Luke Bryan, Thompson Square, and Florida Georgia Line concert at Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, in Raleigh. After all of our Country Thunder adventures in the rain, Luke was right when he said, "Rain is a Good Thing." Although I can't make it to Thunder this year, I had a little dose of mud and rain on Saturday. Unlike First Midwest Amphitheater (Tinley Park, IL), you can tailgate in Raleigh... and no charge for parking!

Got to wear my new Chloe + Isabel Necklace.

This is about as close as I'll get to drinking actual moonshine. Not for me. And that other little fact that its illegal... Luke Bryan brought up a mason jar full for his crew to drink on stage. Welcome to the Dirt Road Diaries Tour!

 Florida Georgia Line. So good.
 Luke Bryan!
 Rain is a good thing!

Great concert and great night. The rain actually held off for the entire show, which was nice since I was not under the pavilion. I definitely understand why this show was sold out in 20 seconds. So much fun. I got Keith Urban tickets that are even closer to the stage, so I'm very excited.

New Beginnings

As many of you know, I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in January. I love Chicago, but I have to say the warmer weather is reason enough to stay in the south. I'm also becoming accustomed to wearing my Lucchese cowboy boots, drinking Bojangle's sweet tea, and thinking 60 degrees or below is borderline freezing.

Aside from the southern living, I did come down here for a change and to pursue my profession further. A workers' compensation law firm gave me the opportunity and I was so thankful to take them up on it.

Since I moved, I've visited the coast twice. The first time to Wilmington, NC near Wrightsville Beach. I can't wait to go back and eat at the Dock Street Oyster Bar, deep sea fish, and enjoy the beautiful views.

My second trip to the coast was to Myrtle Beach and its was nice, but not my favorite spot to visit. I would recommend Wrightsville Beach before Myrtle Beach in a heart beat.

I'm going to wrap this post up, but I will be posting more frequently about a bunch of different topics. I hope ya'll enjoy!
