Louvre

The Louvre. I've been wanting to go to the Louvre Museum and was so excited to see all the art inside the largest in the world. If you plan on traveling to Paris, make sure to get tickets in advance so you don't have to wait in the line. That saved us so much time.

I'm not going to name every single painting in this post, but I did take pictures of all the descriptions with the name of each artist, so feel free to ask me in the comments section or through a private message. I will be happy to give you that information.

THE Mona Lisa. Its actually rather small and covered in a glass case, but if you stand on either side of her it looks like she is looking in either direction. Interesting stuff.

Had to take the selfie. And to be honest, there wasn't enough room for anyone to really take a good picture with it because there were so many people crowded around.

Absolutely gorgeous.

My friend Jacci joked that this was the first known documentation of a gay man. Love it.

Napoleon's Coronation at Notre Dame de Paris. #CrownYourself

Venus de Milo.

^ My favorite painting in the whole place.

I really like this one too.

Au Revoir, Paris! See

Esprit D'aventure

Wanderlust or esprit d'venture in French is a strong desire to travel. And boy did we travel around in Paris. We only spent two days there and it felt like a week. I can't wait to go back.
One of the must-do items on my list was visit the OG - Ladurée Paris, where they make the most luxurious and delicious macarons you will ever taste.

Breakfast macarons, anyone?

Sacré-Cœur Basilica or The Sacred Heart of Paris, a Roman Catholic Church.

Down the hill, on the backend of the church is the quaint neighborhood of Montmartre (18th arrondissement), where I had escargot for the first time. It wasn't bad.

And then after a bite to eat at Soleil de la Butte, we strolled over to the Moulin Rouge!

I had a bit of fun in front of Moulin Rouge. Not at all as magical as the movie made it seem, but still cool to see it in person. Luckily we strolled into the red-light district on a Sunday night, so there wasn't much action, if you know what I mean. ;)

That was a wrap on the night. What a day it was.

The streets of Paris are very unique and reminded me of Italy at some points, but then they started to become what Paris was for me. Minus the dog poop left on the sidewalks (not sure why they don't pick it up), the buildings really are beautiful. The balconies are picturesque and I'd love to stay in a flat that has one some day there. I'd imagine swinging the doors open and looking out over the streets.

Notre Dame.

The Notre Dame Cathedral. One of my favorite cathedrals I have ever been inside.

The most perfect cafe sit at Esmeralda, kitty-corner to the backside of the cathedral. My cup of tea was superb and so was the banana-nutella crepe.

Backend of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Next up: Louvre.
