SONS

via   All I can say is, I never thought I would be so fascinated by a show about motorcycle gangs, or should I say clubs. Many of you have probably watched Sons of Anarchy, but I just started a couple weeks ago. I got through season six and then was contemplating how I was going to watch the seventh and final season. Come to find out, Netflix is releasing season seven tomorrow and I'm beyond excited. However, it's a little bittersweet since that will be the end.    The motorcycle club culture is quite typical (or at least what I would imagine) in SOA, but some of the events I never thought would be shown on television. Just when you think you have seen it all, the writers completely blow your mind.   

via   Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) was born into the motorcycle and gun selling life, inherited by his late father. His father, John Teller was killed in an accident and left his wife, Gemma (yes, the Married with Children lady) and his best friend, Clay Morrow with Teller-Morrow, a motorcycle mechanic business.... But mainly, illegal gun selling. Like federal crime scale.   John left behind a fully published novel about his life under the phenomenon of "Sam Crow." At first I thought Mr. Crow was an actual person, but really it's a term for a way of life. Jax gets a hold of the novel and starts to think for himself, molding the Sons into more legitimate business opportunities with a non-violent demeanor.

Its crazy how the Sons evolved through the seasons and who got to meet "Mr.  Mayhem" along the way. The first six seasons were one wild ride, so I am very anxious to start the final season. This show may even make you want to buy a Harley, some aviators, and a leather jacket! haha.

 

The Walking Dead

Now that I am done with House of Cards, I needed a new tv show to watch on Netflix. I landed upon amc's The Walking Dead. I thought that it was going to be super cheesy because of the whole zombie looking things, but I've gotten hooked. There are three seasons of it on Netflix and four season on DVD now, so I've kept pretty occupied. After finishing season three, I've decided that it's a mix between ABC's Revolution and Lost. 

How would you feel if you woke up in an abandon hospital, hooked up to IVs, and discovered that you were all alone. On top of that, there are these zombie looking "walkers" ready to feed off of you at any chance they get. Hence the title, they are literally walking dead. Rick prevails to get himself out of the hospital, after a gun shot wound that got him there in the first place. That was before everything changed. He is now in search of his wife and son. They are no where to be found at their home, but all the pictures are gone, so he believes that she took them and they are still alive. He just has to find them. 

As he makes his way to Atlanta, Rick is hit in the face with the reality of his current world. Walkers everywhere. Good thing he was a cop in his previous "normal" world because he was able to stock up on guns to kill these walkers with a shot to the head. That is the only way to kill them, or kill them again I suppose. Rick finds other life in Atlanta and that is when his new world and life start.

I'm trying to figure out how to watch season four, since it isn't on Netflix yet. I've read that it is going to be streamed starting in Fall 2014, before the season five premiere. We can't wait!

MOFY

I know I'm late to the game on this one, but Modern Family is my new favorite show! I started watching last Fall because I heard such great things about it. I'm glad I did. I find myself laughing out loud at multiple points each episode.  

Modern Family is the perfect depiction of what a family of today may look like. The father remarries a gorgeous, younger single mom, the father's son is gay who adopts a little asian girl with his partner, the daughter is married to an awkwardly hilarious guy and they have three children. The oldest daughter is attractive without a brain, the middle child brainiac, and the corky, innocent, only son. It's a bit interesting when your son and your father's new wife's son are the same age. That also makes you and the new wife's son step-siblings! Lol.

Families now-a-days are made up of all shapes, religions, races, genders, dynamics, etc. Modern Family shows the day-to-day lives of a normal, family of the 2000s. Mike's favorite is Phil Dunphy, the awkwardly hilarious dad. The dynamic between characters make for hysterically funny scenes and episodes about simple and relatable things that a family may go through.

We're a bit behind, but Modern Family just aired their season five finale. The finale featured Cameron and Mitchell's (the gay couple) wedding. I can't wait to see it! And did you know that Cam is actually straight in real life? Blew my mind! He plays a wonderful gay man. I read that his co-star and partner on the show (who is gay in real life) said that Cam is "gay for pay." I died.

So, if you are looking for something to watch on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until season six starts on ABC, tune into USA Network for Modern Family marathons and prepare to laugh...a lot.
